Refresh a brand with over 60 years of equity to appeal to newer and younger talent while still feeling experienced, innovative, stable, and adaptable.

Goals

To appeal to a younger audience in order to grow their employees with fresh and innovative thinkers that also have a knowledge of the newest and most cutting edge technology in the industry.

Solution

Worked through a variety of marks that covered the spectrum from a very minor refresh to pushing the mark into the new and modern look that it currently has. Throughout the process of looking at brand refresh, the client realized that they really wanted to push their brand into a more modern look to help attract the young talent they wanted to keep their business innovative, on the cutting edge of technology and thought, without losing their history.

By incorporating a subtle nod to the oil derrick into the wordmark and providing a wide color palette that can be used to make the brand feel more energetic or grounded, the word mark has given the company a more modern feel without losing the weight of their experience.
